Rating by category:
The staff were exceptional - they couldn't do enough to help us. Everything we asked for was done with a smile. The spa was absolutely fantastic, best massage ever.
There is no kettle in the room - if you want to make tea at night, you have to order room service, which is expensive.
We did not have the opportunity to experience anything other than the spa and the dining room as only there for one night and the weather appalling. the hotel was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful particularly the staff in the spa which was very tranquil and relaxing.
I thought it was quite expensive for what it was 3 of us stayed for one night in the same room and we paid separately for the evening meal and our bill was still nearly 700 euro which I think was very expensive but we did enjoy it.
The ambience of the place. The friendly accommadating staff. The high quality service, staff and fantastic facilities.
The room we had was a twin bed, which we found the beds a little bit small and very hard. We should of mentioned this to the staff as they would have deffinately accommodated us ensuring we were comfortable. There is no furniture on the veranda to relax in the sunshine. After requesting tea and coffee facilities we did receive it but it was not maintained.
Lovely location Great food Great atmosphere Friendly and courteous staff Lovely rooms and views Balconies to relax on Overall a great experience
Only one small thing Pool and jacusi area too small
The location was perfect, the view was amazing, the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you.
I think for the type of room I booked I would have expected a hospitality tray as standard and the only thing supplied was bottled water. The balcony should have had furniture on which would have been perfect to take in the view but unfortunately, the chairs were taken for another function in the penthouse, which I think was not really acceptable as I had booked a superior room. It would have been nice if hotel guests had use of the spa as part of their stay as other hotels I stayed in included it in the price.
Very helpful staff Great food in bar and restaurant
It was the worst experience that we have had in a so called 5 star hotel. We arrived and were brought to a twin bedded room. We had booked a Double King size bed room. After alot of confusion and left standing around in the room we were brought to, we eventually got a double room. We decided to take afternoon tea, which was a disaster, completely. Cold tea, like tar, no service, as they were short of staff, it would take me forever to go through the details, as there was nothing good about it. Nothing short of a disaster. We then decided to eat out after that until breakfast when I requested poached eggs with my Irish breakfast. The eggs were still raw when I went to eat it, the waitress who was excellent took it back and I got two burnt fried eggs instead, n I mean burnt, turned upside down and the colour of the yokes were brown having been turned upside down. We complained to the receptionist when paying the bill and she refused to take our money. She was really sorry, but not half as sorry as we were for staying there. It was truly shocking!
I have just printed our experience above
The hotel was situated in a beautiful part of Killarney. The staff were very polite and friendly and made us aware of all the facilities available to us during our stay. The room was outstanding and comfortable.
As solo visitor I particularly liked being just that and having enough to do in comfort on my own. I had the swimming pool to myself. I ate in the bar which I found really relaxing very good food, wonderful live piano music and I was able to read my book. I was very well looked after by the Staff without being intruisive.
I would have loved a larger pool and a Sauna and Steam room. At breakfast there were a few children throwing tantrums!!! Maybe seperate areas for families and solo guests.
liked this hotel for comfort good food and scenic views Room spacious and v comfortable bed Nice having veranda to walk out to and take in fresh air Toiletories v special . love my Aveda products Excellent Shower
Pool Area too visible from reception area Wud prefer a little more privacy while in the pool or while relaxing Jacuzzi not bubbling properly while there This was dissapointing as we really like this facility while away
The general relaxing & comfortable atmosphere throughout the hotel. The staff were also very helpful
I felt the value for money on the dinner menu was quite poor.
The hotel itself was fantastic, we really felt the 5 star experience. On arrival our room was upgraded to a suite which was absolutely beautiful with fantastic views and more than we expected. The room was very warm and exceptionally clean. We were given a tour on arrival and were told about what the hotel had to offer and then escorted to our room. Staff were very friendly, polite, courteous and extremely professional, in particular the reception staff. We really enjoyed the whole experience and would have loved to stayed longer. We will definitely return again to the Aghadoe Heights and have strongly recommended it to friends and family. 5 star experience at its best.
All members of staff in this hotel were superb. They were so helpful, friendly and attentive at all times - nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was particularly spacious and the largest we have ever occupied. It overlooked the garden area and was peaceful and quiet. The food was excellent in both the restaurant and bar areas and the standard of service was certainly five star. The spa experience was very relaxing and the facilities and treatments were of a high standard. A special anniversary celebration in this hotel was a great experience. It was our first visit but it certainly will not be the last!
The exterior of the building is not greatly impressive, maybe a little dated, but once you are inside it is clear why this hotel has a five star rating.
From arrival I would have to say that all staff really add value to the stay. They are all naturally friendly and naturally Irish in their dealings, even if they are not Irish by birth. A real pleasure
Amazing place - staff are so helpful and polite, rooms beautiful, comfortable beds, divine food and amazing spa, well worth a stay:)
